Blue Earth Summit 22 launches at Patagonia Bristol
Last night saw lift off for Blue Earth Summit this year, as we filled Patagonia Bristol for our ’22 launch party.
There was an amazing amount of energy in the room, and it was great to see such huge support and goodwill towards the Blue Earth Summit movement. In between drinks, music and conversation, the event founders took to the stage to reflect on last year’s Summit and shared plans of growth and progression for ’22.
This was followed by a talk from the inspirational Kate Rawles, who shared stories from her adventures and how they have influenced her outdoor philosophy.

What’s new this year?
Based on feedback and demand from last year’s Summit, we’re extending the format and increasing capacity from 1,000 to 5,000 attendees across the event, which will now run over three days .
The first two days will be held at Motion, with even more in depth content across a broader range of topics. On day three we’ll head back to The Wave, this time for the full day with additional opportunities to surf, bike, run and experientially network with fellow Blue Earthers. Plus more day three activities to be announced.
Another area of growth is the Pitch Tent. Last year we raised £15m for 4x finalists. This year we are expanding the business format and introducing:
Pitch Tent Adventure – Funding expeditions challenges
Pitch Tent Community – Funding projects that make the outdoors more accessible
After a busy day for the first time we’ll be introducing a Night Programme, which will see a range of break out evening events across Bristol.
Who’s coming to Blue Earth Summit ’22?
2022 will see the return of some key speakers from last year including favourites Sir Tim Smit, Kresse Wesling CBE and Hugo Tagholm.
Joining them are business change leaders Mike Barry and Jonathon Porritt, elite ocean racer Pip Hare, outdoor diversity leader Maxwell Ayamba, MD of Iceland Group Richard Walker, youth activist Poppy Stowell-Evans and head of River Action UK & former chairman of Teneo Charles Watson, to name a few!
There are big plans afoot for the Global South, plus lots more exciting speakers we’ll be announcing in coming weeks and months.
Many of last year’s partners such as Trek, Hydro Flask and Feel Good are coming back and continue to support the growth of this event and on top of this we are welcoming the likes of Rab, Komoot and many more.
