Feel Good Drinks continue their association with Blue Earth Summit in the best way possible – by putting Project Seagrass front and centre of their activity, supporting a vital charity doing everything to ensure the conservation and restoration of seagrass ecosystems.

Seagrasses are flowering plants that live in shallow, sheltered areas along our coast. These sensitive plants are different from seaweed and show bright green leaves. These leaves form large, dense meadows under the sea like underwater gardens full of life. Research has confirmed the value of seagrass meadows in supporting world fisheries production and thus the pressing need to put more effort into their conservation.

Through the three pillars of community, research and action, Project Seagrass engages the wider community on the importance of seagrass ecosystems whilst supporting local stakeholders with scientific support and assisting with long-term monitoring. This enables the conservation and restoration of these vital ecosystems.

They are currently committed to the Ocean Decade (2021-2030) following the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, which is the “science we need for the ocean we want” and also the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.

Community examples include the Coastal Communities Network in Scotland and Seawilding.org about which more can be seen on the film below.
