Speaker Bio

I am a climate justice and climate policy expert, focusing both on the global and local scale,
I’m interested in how just the response to climate change is and how we can ensure a just
transition.
Originally from Vienna, Austria, I moved to the UK to study Politics and International
Relations at the University of Sheffield in 2006. After a short time out to work for an NGO, I
completed my PhD at the University in Sheffield in 2015 and started working at SPAIS the
same year.
My research focuses on climate justice and climate policy. I have written about the global
scale, comparing the UNFCCC to non-state actors such as C40 cities. I'm currently working
on understanding just transition at the city scale.
