Speaker Bio

Beccy is Chief Executive of the largest nature conservation organisation in the UK, with 1.2 million members, more than 2,000 employees and around 12,000 volunteers. She started her career in local government and management consultancy, before the move to the conservation charity sector in 2000, including as a Director at the National Trust and later Chief Executive at the Woodland Trust.

Beccy leads the RSPB in a critical decade due to 41% of species in the UK being in decline, and 15% at risk of extinction. Through the RSPB’s work with members, supporters, businesses and government, it is playing an active role in sustainability, climate change, food and farming and much more. The RSPB owns and manages more than 160,000 hectares of land, with more than 200 reserves across the UK where it undertakes conservation work. The charity forges powerful partnerships that inspire others to give nature the home it deserves – both in the UK and internationally, as part of BirdLife International.
