Since discovering climbing at an indoor wall a few years ago, Carlos has worked to turn this community into a more inclusive space.

Most importantly, he strives to enable climbers of all levels and backgrounds to be agents of change. As a Co-founder of Colour Up, his efforts have centered around increasing participation from global majority folks like himself within climbing, supported by corporate allies like Patagonia and Black Diamond, to name a couple.

However, Carlos believes the true goal of Colour Up is building meaningful communities, driven by empathy and a desire for mutual empowerment. Carlos has taken stages like the Kendal Mountain Festival and Fort William Mountain Festival to discuss diversity, inclusion, and how kindness can nurture progress. He also works as a climbing instructor, trying to change the industry from within!
