Speaker Bio
Chris Butler-Stroud is the chief executive officer at global marine charity, Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC). Chris has been with the charity for over 30 years, having joined in 1992. In 1999 he became CEO and has helped lead the organisation to become one of the most influential whale and dolphin charities in the world.
Chris has worked across nearly all areas of policy in his time at WDC and created its first campaigning team in the 1990s tackling whaling, captivity, bycatch and other threats to their survival. WDC was one of the first NGOs to investigate and challenge the keeping whales and dolphins in captivity and work on solutions to end this practice.
