After discovering a passion for hiking in 2016 following a drastic life change, it wasn’t long before a lifetime love of cooking was merged with my new vice. These days I can often be found creating delicious, restaurant style meals on minimal camping equipment in the hills.
Harrison Ward, perhaps better known as Fell Foodie, is a passionate self-taught cook since childhood, food has played a key role in most of his life. A sudden life change in 2016 brought a relocation to the Lake District and an introduction to hiking.
A new passion was ignited and it wasn’t long before his love of cooking was merged with this new appreciation for the fells. Harrison produces restaurant-quality dishes in remote locations using minimal equipment. He takes modern practices back to their primal roots and shows what can be cooked in the mountains as well as sharing the importance of time outdoors for physical and mental wellbeing.
Harrison has been featured on/by many media outlets—including Mary Berry – Love to Cook (BBC2), Men’s Fitness Magazine, Metro, Daily Express, The Great Outdoors Magazine, Trail Mag, BBC Radio Cumbria, and more—for further examples please see Press & Collaborations
Harrison has been invited to speak at various organizations, including Volvo, JLL, Natural England, VivoBarefoot and many secondary schools. He has also been invited to demonstrate his love of outdoor cooking at dozens of festivals and events, including Kendal Mountain Festival, The Big Retreat, Alpkit Big Shakeout, Red Paddle Ride Out, Keswick Mountain Festival and Ritchie Norton’s AdaptXplore.
