Matt Smith, CEO of Hometree Charity, has transformed the organization from the ground up in just three years, now owning 500 acres in Ireland, including the country’s largest rewilding project.

Leading a team of 12, he’s pioneering Ireland’s first multi-stakeholder national park. An advocate for sustainability, he co-founded a regenerative agriculture farm in 2013. Matt is also a published writer and owner of an annual ocean-focused publication. For over a decade, he’s been an influential consultant and ambassador for UK ethical clothing company Finisterre. Matt holds a foundation degree in Natural Science and recently completed a ‘Critical Leadership’ course with Cumbria University. In addition, he boasts a unique background as a professional surfer and circumnavigator of the globe, sailing in reverse.
