eBay Joins Blue Earth 2025 as Circularity Partner
We are beyond thrilled to announce eBay as the Circularity Partner of Blue Earth throughout 2025.

As one of the most recognisable and impactful brands in the world of circularity and recommerce, eBay UK will be joining us in a landmark partnership that spans both of our flagship events: Blue Earth Forum during London Climate Action Week in June and Blue Earth Summit this October. As our #CircularityPartner, eBay will also lead a Circularity Studio at the Forum in June, helping to spark collaboration and creativity between entrepreneurs and small business leaders at the intersection of climate, commerce, and community.

This partnership is a natural fit. Blue Earth exists to accelerate solutions that regenerate our natural world. At a time when the global economy is undergoing a deep reset, circular business models are not only vital to meeting environmental goals, they are also unlocking new forms of value for people and the planet. eBay has long been a pioneer of recommerce, empowering people to buy and sell pre-loved goods from fashion to car parts and refurbished technology while helping to reduce waste, extend product life cycles, and create entrepreneurial opportunity.

The alignment couldn’t be stronger.

A Shared Vision for a More Regenerative Future

As consumers re-evaluate what matters, from how they live to how they shop, recommerce is becoming more than just a sustainable choice. It’s a powerful business model. For almost 30 years, eBay has helped millions turn passions into professions. In the UK, they support over 200,000 small business sellers, giving them access to 20 million+ customers worldwide.

eBay’s Circular Fashion Fund, in partnership with the British Fashion Council, backs early-stage startups scaling circular fashion solutions. Winners include The Seam and SOJO (repair services), and Swoperz (a pre-loved kidswear platform empowering the next generation to shop consciously). From repair to resale, eBay is creating space for purpose-led founders to thrive, showing that circularity drives both impact and opportunity.

eBay sits at the heart of this shift.

In its 2024 Recommerce Report, eBay shared that 40% of their gross merchandise volume (GMV) comes from pre-loved and refurbished items, and 60% of global buyers say purchasing pre-loved goods has become more important to them. This is not a fringe movement. It’s a mainstream behavioural shift with major implications for sustainability, equity, and economic resilience.

Recommerce isn’t just about value. It’s about choice. It’s about meaning. It’s about enabling people to save where they need to, so they can spend more on what they love. It empowers individuals to shop according to their passions, to invest in hobbies, family, or community, and to prioritise experience over excess.

  • Almost three in five global consumers have bought pre-loved goods in the last year.
  • 71% of consumers aged 25–34 have done the same.
  • Millennials are leading the way, with 9% purchasing pre-loved items weekly and 24% monthly.

This is the future of consumer behaviour.

Recommerce Meets Climate Impact

For Blue Earth, eBay’s work is an inspiration. The brand has proven that circularity isn’t just a sustainability initiative, it’s a core business strategy creating economic opportunity. And it works.

Pre-loved doesn’t mean less. It means more: more access, more affordability, more inspiration in everything from fashion to refurbished technology to car parts and accessories. And it plays a significant role in the fight against climate breakdown.

  • 67% of consumers surveyed agree: "I am worried about our planet."

eBay offers them a way to act.

Even when sustainability isn’t the top motivator for purchasing pre-loved goods, it’s still a key driver. 94% of Gen Z sellers and 90% of Millennials on eBay say they value the platform’s role in keeping items out of landfill.

At Blue Earth Summit, we talk a lot about how we scale what works. eBay is a shining example. Through accessible technology and a global platform, it has created a self-sustaining circular economy engine, one that fuels local entrepreneurship while protecting the planet.

eBay Circularity Studio: Coming to London Climate Action Week

As part of this partnership, we’re incredibly excited to announce the launch of the eBay Circularity Studio, hosted at the Blue Earth Forum this June during London Climate Action Week.

The eBay Circularity Studio will bring together circular economy thinkers, doers and leaders to explore new solutions for circular businesses. The session will explore how businesses can unlock innovation and impact at scale, to power the transition to a circular economy. It will be a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate and inspire the future of circular buying and selling.

More details will be shared soon, but expect bold ideas, big thinkers, and the smartest partnerships to accelerate the circular economy.

Why This Matters Now

The transition to a circular economy is no longer optional. It is urgent. Linear systems of take-make-waste are no longer viable, economically or ecologically. We need new models, and we need leaders like eBay to show the way forward.

This partnership signals something important: circularity is moving from the margins to the mainstream. And as we build a more regenerative future, it will be these types of cross-sector collaborations that unlock new momentum.

At Blue Earth, we believe in convening the most ambitious businesses, innovators, and investors working to solve big problems. eBay’s inclusion in this ecosystem elevates our work and brings powerful insight and inspiration to our community.

Looking Ahead

We can’t wait to welcome eBay to the Blue Earth stage.

Whether at the Circularity Studio on June 26th during London Climate Action Week or the Summit in October, they will help guide a vital conversation on how we reshape consumption, reimagine value, and build systems that are better for people and planet.

To our Blue Earth community, stay tuned. We’ll be sharing more details on the Circularity Studio and eBay’s involvement in the weeks to come.

In the meantime, join us in celebrating this exciting partnership.

The future is circular. And we’re building it together.
