Klarna Climate Heroes Award: Recognising Real Climate Impact
Recognising Real Climate Impact
Up to $100,000 for climate solutions already delivering real-world impact.
This June, during London Climate Action Week, Blue Earth will host the Klarna Climate Heroes Award, celebrating solutions already delivering measurable, real-world climate impact.
Climate progress doesn’t happen through great ideas alone. It happens through people who challenge the status quo, move fast, and turn ambition into tangible results. This award celebrates those who have moved beyond pilots into real-world delivery.
Blue Earth is proud to host the announcement of the Klarna Climate Heroes Award during London Climate Action Week on June 24.
- Grant: Up to USD 100k
- Deadline: 20 April 2026
- Announced: 24 June, London
- Scope: Global
Why This Award
As a global fintech company, Klarna works at scale, using data, digital infrastructure and innovation to serve millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.
As global emissions continue to rise, many of the most significant climate challenges still lie ahead. Through initiatives such as the Climate Transformation Fund and the AI for Climate Resilience Program, Klarna supports solutions with strong potential for future impact.
This award focuses on something complementary.
It recognises climate solutions that are already delivering proven real-world impact, and helps accelerate what is already working.
Impact achieved, not impact promised.
What the Award Provides
- Up to USD $100,000 in unrestricted funding.
- Amplification through Klarna’s communications and media outreach.
- Dedicated support to help deepen and accelerate impact.
- Live announcement on 24 June in London, at the Blue Earth Forum during London Climate Action Week.
1–2 winners will be selected, sharing a total grant of USD $100,000.
The award is designed as unrestricted funding, giving organisations the flexibility to invest where it matters most to accelerate impact.
Who Can Apply
The award is open globally to any mission-driven organisation working on climate solutions, including:
- Startups, NGOs, social enterprises, cooperatives and other mission-driven organisations.
- Any climate solution area, energy, land use, transport, industry, waste, carbon removal and beyond.
- Any geography
There is no minimum operating history. Impact data speaks for itself. Both self-applications and third-party nominations are welcome.
The Award is Looking For
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Achieved climate impact: Clear, measurable real-world results supported by data
- Speed and traction: Progress beyond idea or pilot stage
- Challenger approach: Solutions that rethink conventional models
- Credibility: Substantiated claims with data or third-party validation
- Under-recognised impact: Meaningful work that hasn’t yet received proportional visibility
- Smart design for scale: Solutions built to grow impact

Impact is assessed relative to each organisation’s size and budget, ensuring smaller or emerging initiatives can compete on equal footing.
