Protect Our Winters (POW) Bring an Innovative Panel and Workshop to BES

We are very pleased to welcome Protect Our Winters (POW) to the Blue Earth Summit ’22, an organisation we have long admired as a part of the outdoor industry doing very important work. POW will be joining us for both a workshop and panel discussion session

The workshop, ‘Action Over Apathy: Using Business For Change’ will be delivered by GM Lauren MacCallum and Programme Manager Dom Winter from POW UK, focusing on delivering a POW Pledge for COP27 alongside organisational carbon reduction checklists.

The same day will also see a panel presented by POW’s Partnership Manager, Dan Yates, bringing with them representatives from key brands and organisations in this space. This includes Senior Sustainability Manager for The North Face (VF Group),Julian Lings, Sustainability Specialist at Picture Organic Clothing, Gillian Rosh and Head of Sustainability at Internet Fusion Group/Surfdome, Adam Hall.

With the outdoor industry owning huge economic power and public reach, the panel will focus on how the industry can lead the conversation, appropriately-named ‘Political Activists – The Outdoor Industry Can Lead Climate Change Action’.

Protect Our Winters is working to leverage this into political pressure for systemic action on climate change. Alongside leading outdoor brands, POW will be launching a new action, focussed on the political decision makers who will present at COP27. Find out how your company can join forces with us and make the outdoor industry true climate leaders in the business world.
