Ashish (Ash) is a Partner at Lightrock, where he leads many investments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep tech companies. His expertise spans the full AI stack - from infrastructure to applications - and he works closely with founders to scale their solutions. At Lightrock, he has backed several category-defining AI companies including Dataiku (the platform for ‘Everyday AI’), Neo4J (graph database management system to improve the accuracy of ML), AiDash (AI for critical infrastructure monitoring) and Liqid (transforming datacentres with hardware and software to meet the needs of AI). Previously, he held investment roles at Partech Ventures, TempoCap and Episode1, where his successful investments included Onfido (AI-enabled identity verification), Digital Surgery (AI-powered surgical technology, acquired by Medtronic), and other pioneering technology companies. Before venture capital, Ashish founded and scaled ecommerce business. Ashish is a regular speaker at leading international technology conferences (e.g. VivaTech, GITEX, SLUSH, South Summit, Tech.EU Summit) and has been named one of the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech. In his free time, Ash can be found exploring new cultures through his travels, tending to his bonsai collection, and spending time with family.
