Becky Malby is Chair of Ilkley Clean Water Group, a citizen-led campaign fighting for swimmable, safe rivers and clean water across the UK. Under her leadership, the group successfully secured the UK’s first designated bathing water status for a stretch of river — setting a national precedent for community-driven environmental action.

A systems thinker and experienced health and care leader, Becky brings deep expertise in public policy, citizen engagement, and place-based change. Her work is galvanising communities, challenging regulators, and pushing for a future where clean water is a right, not a privilege.
