Born and raised in the Lake District, Steve Scott has always felt most at home in the mountains. What began as childhood adventures on the fells grew into a career on snow and in the sky — from competing as a national team skier and coaching on the slopes, to spending over a decade in the Alps as a professional paraglider pilot and co-founding a mountain sports school with a close friend and French Mountain Guide.

Today, Steve is one of the driving forces behind Kendal Mountain Festival, the world’s biggest gathering of outdoor stories and inspiration. Over the past 20 years he’s helped the Festival grow into a global community, building partnerships with leading outdoor brands and welcoming many of the world’s greatest adventurers to Kendal. Audiences will also recognise him as one of our regular presenters — on stage, on screen, and on tour both in the UK and overseas.

When he’s not working on the Festival, Steve is usually out on an adventure of his own. Whether skiing, climbing, or flying, his love of the outdoors has taken him across the globe — experiences that continue to shape his passion for sharing the spirit of adventure with others.
