Patagonia Sponsors Bursary Tickets to Ensure an Inclusive Audience at Blue Earth Summit

The Bursary Tickets coincide with Blue Earth Summit announcing its 2023 charity partners: The Soil Association, Whale & Dolphin Conservation (WDC) and Bristol-based City to Sea.

Blue Earth Summit is delighted to launch its 2023 Bursary Ticket programme sponsored by Patagonia, one of the leading outdoor clothing and activist organisations.

In their 50th year, Patagonia has redefined the possibilities of purpose-led business by making nature their biggest shareholder.

Lisa Douglas, UK Marketing Lead for Patagonia said “For climate action to be meaningful it must be inclusive and accessible. We were keen that our partnership fee for the Blue Earth Summit went towards fostering this, and we’re delighted they made it possible- by using it as a bursary for people who might not otherwise be able to attend.”

Charities, students, community networks and organisations inspired by the outdoors and committed to building a positive future for people and the planet are encouraged to apply.

The Bursary Ticket launch coincides with Blue Earth announcing its three charity partners for 2023: The Soil Association, Whale & Dolphin Conservation (WDC) and Bristol-based City to Sea

Will Hayler, Co-founder of Blue Earth Summit said “We believe in a new way of doing business, where work and life can be better, and to do this we need to ensure a diversity of experiences, skills and ideas are in the room.  We are delighted that Patagonia is ensuring that the Blue Earth Summit audience remains inclusive through the Bursary Ticket scheme.

Will continued: “This year we have picked three special and dynamic charity partners to showcase throughout the event. They will be woven throughout the programme and we can’t wait to hear their latest news and have them inspire everyone attending.”

Bursary Tickets: How to Apply

Bursary tickets are now live on the Blue Earth Summit website and applications are welcome from NGOs, students, charities, community networks and organisations who clearly demonstrate their commitment to relevant movements, positive social growth and protecting the natural environment in all its forms.

The Blue Earth vision is to build a community of change-makers from across sectors as diverse as business, charity, academia and community networks and create a place where a passion for being outdoors binds people together as a movement and together enables people to reimagine what that world is going to look like.

Charity Partners

The Soil Association

James Cashmore, Managing Director, Soil Association says “We are delighted to be a partner organisation for this year’s Blue Earth Summit. The Soil Association is an environmental charity which aims to protect nature by transforming how people eat and farm. We know that Saving The Earth starts from the ground up.

We are very much looking forward to participating in this key event tackling the most crucial issues we face in the world today and it will be fantastic to meet others who are working to protect our environment and biodiversity with a shared commitment to making a better planet for future generations.

There is an incredible programme of inspirational speakers and thought leaders who are proving that while government has been slow to respond to the multiple crises we face – through the power of individuals, communities and organisations we can engage and work together to make a positive difference.”

The Soil Association is a leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use. It provides solutions that help people to live, eat, farm and grow with the resources that are available. The Soil Association wants to make sure everyone has access to food that is healthy for them and good for the environment.

As a partner to Blue Earth Summit, they are providing leading speakers from their own organisation including their CEO Helen Browning OBE, as well as helping guide programme content through involving their close partners including WWF, Wildfarmed and Pukka Herbs.

Whale and Dolphin Conservation

Chris Butler- Stroud, CEO, Whale and Dolphin Conservation said ‘The Blue Earth Summit is playing a leading role in bringing together inspiring individuals and organisations committed to protecting our shared planet and I’m so pleased that Whale and Dolphin Conservation will be there to share how emerging technology is helping to protect these amazing creatures, and their ocean home’.

Whale & Dolphin Conservation (WDC) is the leading global charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins. They are committed to creating healthy seas around the world and defending these remarkable creatures against the many threats they face, including the growing issue of single-use plastics in the ocean.

Their partnership with Blue Earth Summit will include content programming around some of their leading initiatives including Whales from Space in partnership with leading global tech. They will also involve their close partners Deloitte as well as putting forward two tech start up partners into the Pitch Tent process.

City to Sea

Natalie Fée, Founder of City to Sea: “As ‘Big Oil’ doubles down on plastic production, increasing ecological destruction at a catastrophic rate, the Blue Earth Summit gives us a chance to champion the solutions, celebrate the progress being made and collaborate with people and businesses who can help amplify and scale our work. We’re proud to be a charity partner and look forward to being part of this year’s inspiration, innovation and impact.”

City to Sea are an environmental organisation, campaigning to stop plastic pollution at source. They work with communities, businesses, and everyday activists around the world to provide practical solutions to the plastic problem. The problem might be complicated, but they don’t believe the solutions need to be.
