BE100 Explained

The BE100 competition is designed to fast-track innovation in climate health by inviting 1,000+ businesses to apply for the chance to pitch their ideas to thousands of mission-aligned investors at Blue Earth Summit 2025.

Each year, we look for the three most innovative business solutions across three categories:

Seed

Early-stage innovators with up to £1m in revenue, typically in pre-seed or seed funding rounds.

Growth

Established brands with proven traction, generating £1m to £10m in revenue or raising £1m+, typically in Seed to Series A funding rounds.

Scale

Businesses with clear market penetration and global demand, generating £10m+ in revenue or raising £10m+, usually at Series A/B stage and beyond.

BE100 Brief

Whether you're a founder or applying as a team, submit your BE100 application via NOAN. Your application should introduce you and your solution, outlining the what, how, and crucially the why behind your business solution.

The Brief & Judging Criteria

Your proposal should address four key criteria, with each application scored out of 20 points by each judge. Focus on the following areas:

1

How your business solution is BETTER than what already exists.
Tell us what sets you apart. Why is your approach, product, or service an upgrade on what's out there today?

2

How your business solution is BETTER for the planet.
Clearly demonstrate the positive environmental impact of your product, service, or innovation.

3

How your business solution is (or will be) commercially viable.
Show that your idea isn't just good for the planet, it can thrive in the real world.

4

What is your team experience?
Highlight the expertise, skills, and background of your team that make you uniquely positioned to succeed and deliver impact.

Judges’ scores will be combined to create the final shortlist. The 100 highest-scoring businesses will become BE100 companies, with the top 30 moving forward as finalists.

Judging Process

From 1,000+ to BE100
Every application will be carefully reviewed and scored by a Blue Earth team member, our partners, an institutional investor, and an independent expert.
From Top 100 to Finalists
All BE100 businesses will be invited to attend Blue Earth Summit free of charge, with the chance to pitch to a live audience. The top 10 in each category (Seed, Growth, Scale) will pitch head-to-head, with a panel of institutional investors selecting the top 2 from each group to progress.
From 6 Finalists to 3 Winners
The final 6 will pitch live on stage. The audience will cast their votes during the grand finale to decide the three BE100 winners.
