Ventrix Labs

Climate Tech

Start

Ventrix was founded by four students who met during Imperial College London’s climate tech innovation competition. Each joined independently but kept gravitating toward one another—united by a shared belief that real-world climate solutions must solve both a carbon problem and a cost problem. One late-night ideation session led to the concept that became Ventrix: modular, retrofit carbon capture units designed for use in the built environment.

Their diverse skillsets formed the perfect foundation for a climate hardware company:

  • An industrial engineer with seven years’ manufacturing experience and a background in product design.

  • A chemical engineer focused on carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS).

  • A design and machine learning engineer, formerly COO of a Sequoia-backed startup and part of Alibaba’s tech team.

  • A data and ML engineer, previously at AMD and Cambridge’s deeptech accelerator.

Together, they developed a proof of concept, won Imperial’s competition, and gained early traction with major industry partners. Within a year, they graduated and took Ventrix full-time. The response from businesses was immediate and enthusiastic — both large and small customers signed seven letters of intent, validating the market need for scalable, low-cost CO₂ capture.

Ventrix’s mission is to make carbon capture practical for smaller players—affordable, modular, and seamlessly integrated into existing systems so that organisations can decarbonise now, not decades from now.

Its vision looks beyond the UK to a global challenge: volatile CO₂ markets and disrupted supply chains. From Europe’s ammonia plant closures to Asia’s winter energy shortages, industries worldwide face unstable CO₂ availability. Ventrix aims to solve this by transforming boilers, fermenters, and HVAC systems into embedded capture points, creating a distributed, circular CO₂ network that underpins both climate goals and economic resilience.

In short, Ventrix is turning everyday infrastructure into part of the solution—making carbon capture local, modular, and scalable to gigaton impact.
