Speaker Bio

David’s journey within the outdoor industry began at the age of 16 when he joined NRS as one of the first European ambassadors for the esteemed US-based paddlesports brand. After pursuing the Olympic discipline of slalom kayaking in his early paddling career, David shifted his focus toward whitewater and sea kayaking expeditions around the world. Whilst on these trips, David witnessed firsthand the threats facing our waterways and became aware of the important role paddlers must play in conservation. 

Nearly 15 years after joining NRS as a sponsored athlete, David stands at the helm of NRS’s European division. His role spans international marketing, sales and product development, along with leading the NRS Lead Ambassador and NGO-support programs for Europe. Through these programs, David channels NRS resources to support influential activists and organisations working to grow the paddlesports community and defend our rivers, lakes and oceans.

David’s unique position places him at the confluence of commerce and conservation. He sees the two going hand in hand to grow participation in paddlesports, create new advocates for protecting our natural resources, and sustain the organisations leading the charge.
