Dr. Rhian-Mari Thomas is Chief Executive of the Green Finance Institute, an independent, commercially focused organisation seed funded by the UK Government.
Rhian spent 20 years in investment banking and corporate finance and was the first person to be awarded an OBE for services to green banking. She is an emeritus member of TCFD and co-chaired the launch of the TNFD, to which she remains an advisor.
Rhian sits on numerous advisory groups across UK Government, as well as the World Economic Forum’s Clean Energy Financing steering committee and co-chairs the leadership council for Snowball Impact Investments. Rhian is also a Trustee of the World Wildlife Fund UK.
A fluent Welsh speaker, Rhian holds a PhD in Physics from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
