Liz Callegari is co-founder of Black Sands Communications Ltd, a small consultancy launched earlier this year working on brand, communications and campaign strategy for purpose led organisations. Black Sands’ philosophy is based on the belief that facts alone will not change the world – or we wouldn’t be facing a series of global crises right now. So, as important as it is to be credible and science-based, we need to use the power of storytelling and conversation to drive change.

Pre-consultancy life, Liz led communications and campaigns teams at WWF-UK. This included leading the global campaign, impact and education projects around the “David Attenborough – A Life On Our Planet” film and “Our Planet” TV series with Netflix and Silverback Films, as well as leading WWF-UK’s campaign team on issues such as sustainable food, timber procurement, climate change and protecting world heritage sites from oil drilling.  As a member of the Steering Group for The Climate Coalition (UK group representing 100+ organisations) Liz had a key personal role in developing the Show The Love campaign designed to reach new audiences and shift the public discourse on climate change.
