Tony Burdon has been CEO of Make My Money Matter from its launch in 2020, leading a public campaign working to ensure the trillions invested through UK pensions and banks builds a better world.
It was co-founded by the filmmaker, Richard Curtis. The campaign has bought individuals, businesses and NGOs, celebrities and climate leaders together, to demand that our money does better.
Tony has worked in international development for much of his life, with over fifteen years in Africa and Asia. While in Oxfam he was on the board of the successful Jubilee 2000 Debt Cancellation campaign. He then worked in the UK Treasury, the Commission for Africa, the Department for International Development, and as a senior civil servant, leading the Private Sector and International Financial Institutions Departments – including mobilising private sector investment into developing countries, to help deliver the Sustainable Development Goals and tackle the climate emergency.
