Introducing the BE100 winners for 2027

Ten pioneering businesses selected for at least £1 million in combined investment to help transform the way the world works.

From recovering fresh water and removing carbon to helping doctors identify cancer-treatment options, this year’s BE100 winners are tackling challenges that affect people, industries and the planet.

Selected from 1,414 applicants across ten industries, the ten winning businesses each bring a distinct approach to building a better future. Each has been selected for a minimum £100,000 investment from BE100 Fund II, managed in partnership with Haatch.

Announced at Blue Earth Summit, the winners mark an expansion in Blue Earth’s support: from three winning businesses last year to ten this year.

Meet the winners

AI & Technology: OkHi

Proving where you live can be a barrier to accessing financial services. OkHi verifies residential addresses through mobile phones, providing an alternative to conventional proof-of-address documents, utility bills and home visits.

Blue Economy: Lir Labs

The microorganisms inside wastewater-treatment systems do essential work. Lir Labs uses automated microscopy to monitor them, helping operators detect emerging problems in the treatment process.

Built Environment: Converge

Converge connects concrete sensors with software to help construction teams make decisions using site data. Its technology helps teams plan work with a clearer understanding of conditions on the ground.

Carbon & Nature: Capture6

Capture6 tackles two environmental challenges through one process. Its systems combine freshwater recovery from saline waste streams with atmospheric carbon removal.

Energy: Odqa

Odqa is developing concentrated solar and thermal-storage technology to supply high-temperature heat for industrial processes. It concentrates sunlight to heat air and stores that heat in rock beds for use after sunset.

Fashion & Materials: VNYX

VNYX uses robotics and AI to prepare used and returned garments for resale. By grading, cleaning and photographing clothes, the business helps get them ready for a second owner.

Food & Agriculture: Elicit Plant

Elicit Plant develops plant-derived treatments that help crops cope with water stress. Applied to leaves, its treatments support agriculture in responding to challenging growing conditions.

Health & Wellness: Genomate Health

Genomate Health helps oncologists use the molecular profile of a patient’s tumour to identify and rank targeted treatment options, supporting complex treatment decisions.

Media & Education: Novi Innovations

Novi Innovations helps schools restrict distracting phone functions while retaining access to essential tools, supporting a more focused learning environment.

Transport & Mobility: Ontra Mobility

Ontra Mobility helps public-transport agencies compare routes, timetables and service options against passenger demand and available resources, supporting decisions about how services operate.

Recognising commercial potential and positive impact

The BE100 selection process brought together 40 judges from venture capital and industry. Applications were assessed on commercial viability, positive impact, innovation, team strength and competitive advantage, with at least four judges reviewing applications in each category.

One hundred businesses were selected across the ten industries. Finalists then delivered three-minute pitches at Blue Earth Summit, with category judges considering both written submissions and live presentations to select the winners.

The result is a group of businesses with the potential to make a meaningful difference in their industries.

Support that goes beyond investment

BE100 exists to find, fund and support pioneering businesses. For the winners, investment is one part of that commitment.

Blue Earth will introduce the teams to other investors, showcase them at events and connect them with potential customers and expertise across banking, legal and employment matters.

“We want the businesses solving these problems to become the businesses that lead their industries.”

Guy Hayler, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Blue Earth

That ambition sits at the heart of BE100: helping founders access the relationships, expertise and capital they need to take their businesses further.

Congratulations to all ten winners, and thank you to every applicant, judge and partner who helped make this year’s programme possible.
