Ben Goldsmith
Founder & Chair
Conservation Collective
Ben Goldsmith’s environmental work is rooted in a simple conviction: nature recovers fastest when people closest to a place have the resources to protect it. He founded and chairs Conservation Collective, a global network directing funding and practical support to locally led environmental foundations. Ben is also Chief Executive of Menhaden, a London-listed investment company focused on efficient use of energy and natural resources, and a trustee of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. He previously co-founded WHEB and served as a non-executive director at Defra. Alongside public advocacy for rewilding, Ben is restoring nature on his family farm in Somerset and hosts the Rewilding the World podcast. His memoir God Is an Octopus connects that work with grief and recovery, exploring the natural world not only as something to save, but as a source of consolation and belonging.
