Dryrobe began with a problem familiar to cold-water surfers: how do you change in a wet car park without freezing? Gideon Bright’s mother made him a waterproof, towel-lined cape as a teenager. Years later, he developed that family solution into the dryrobe® Advance and built a global outdoor brand around it. Gideon is Founder and CEO of dryrobe®, whose products are now used by everyday swimmers, elite athletes and major sporting organisations. A surfer and designer by background, he remains closely involved in product development and company direction. Under his leadership, dryrobe® became a certified B Corp and increased its focus on durability, recycled materials, responsible production and safer access to the outdoors. The success is rooted in good product design: solve one uncomfortable problem exceptionally well, then keep improving without losing the simplicity of the original idea.
