RethinkX starts from a disruptive premise: when foundational technologies change fast enough, the systems built around them can collapse and reform with surprising speed. James Arbib co-founded the independent think tank to study those shifts across energy, transport, food and other essential sectors.
A technology investor, author and philanthropist, he also co-authored Rethinking Humanity and Stellar with Tony Seba, extending that systems view to the choices facing civilisation. James founded Tellus Mater, a philanthropic foundation exploring how innovation can address global challenges, and oversees a London-based family office. He studied history at Trinity College, Cambridge, later completed a master’s in sustainability leadership and qualified as a chartered accountant.
James brings finance, history and technology into the same frame. The important question for him is whether institutions can recognise profound change early enough to respond intelligently.
