Ruth Osborn

Professional Freediver, Teacher & Ocean Advocate

82m deep FIM, UK No. 1

Ruth Osborn is a British record-holding freediver and ocean advocate. After discovering freediving in 2015, she quickly rose through the sport, setting the British national record in Free Immersion with an 82-metre dive and establishing herself as one of Britain’s deepest female freedivers.

Beyond competition, Ruth explores the relationship between human performance, wellbeing and the natural world through mindfulness, breathwork and movement. Her experiences beneath the surface have given her a unique perspective on discipline, resilience and the importance of protecting the ocean.

Ruth also challenges outdated ideas about age, gender and athleticism, redefining what strength and confidence can look like for women over 40. She continues to compete internationally while collaborating with organisations aligned with performance, wellbeing, responsible travel and sustainability.
