University of Greenwich returns to Blue Earth Summit 2026
The University of Greenwich is returning as a Summit Partner, bringing research, emerging talent and cross-sector thinking into the room where ideas meet investment, partnership and action.
The future does not arrive fully formed. It begins in lecture halls and laboratories, studios and start-ups, fieldwork and lived experience. But ideas only begin to change the world when they move beyond the page, when researchers meet founders, innovators meet investors and fresh thinking finds a route into practice.
That is why we are delighted to welcome the University of Greenwich back as a partner for Blue Earth Summit 2026.
From 14–16 October, more than 7,000 founders, investors, innovators, researchers and business leaders will gather at Woolwich Works in London. Across three days, the Summit will explore the ideas, technologies and collaborations shaping a more resilient, regenerative and inclusive economy.

From Knowledge to Action
Blue Earth Summit is built around a simple belief: progress accelerates when different worlds share the same room. The 2026 programme will connect insight with investment and ambition with implementation, creating space for conversations spanning clean technology, sustainable finance, nature recovery, health and wellbeing, the built environment, food systems and emerging technologies.
The University of Greenwich brings an important dimension to that mix. Its work crosses disciplines and sectors, from regenerative agriculture and food systems to environmental economics, green skills, spatial design and the future of our cities. It is research with a real-world destination: stronger communities, more sustainable places and a fairer economy.
The challenges facing our cities, landscapes and communities do not sit neatly within a single discipline. They demand collaboration between researchers, designers, businesses, policymakers and the many people who live with the consequences. Blue Earth creates the kind of space where those perspectives can meet, and where research can begin to move into action.

Designing Places for an Uncertain Future
Professor Ed Wall and Dr Sandhiran Patchay have been confirmed as speakers at this year’s Summit. A Professor of Cities and Landscapes, landscape architect and urbanist, Ed leads the University’s Centre for Spatial and Digital Ecologies.
The Centre brings together architects and artists, designers and ecologists, landscape architects and theorists, urbanists and philosophers. Its work moves between architecture and media, design and landscape, cities and the environment, crossing the traditional boundaries between artistic and scientific practice to explore how places can become more resilient, inclusive and just.
That interdisciplinary approach feels entirely at home at Blue Earth. The biggest challenges do not belong to one industry, one institution or one type of expertise. They need people who can question assumptions, translate knowledge and build unlikely collaborations.

The partnership will also create opportunities for University of Greenwich students and staff to take part in the Summit. That matters. For three days this October, Woolwich Works will become a meeting place for people who believe the future is something we build together. The University of Greenwich will be part of that work, close to home, connected to a global community and ready to turn knowledge into momentum.
