Hot Topics at Blue Earth Summit

Rosebank and offshore drilling, the future of Net Zero and sewage in our rivers. These are three of the hot topics being discussed by leading experts at Blue Earth Summit next week.

To do this we have brought together influential panels of experts to take us through these hot topics and enable us to discuss what the future looks like and how we can engage further in these issues.

Hugo Tagholm at Oceana is leading the charge to build a campaign to put an end to new oil and gas developments in the UK. But what needs to happen next? How do we work together on this vital issue?  Ocean experts on panels throughout the event include Gina Lovett at Patagonia, Marine Biologist Ailsa McLellan and Mark Atkinson, head of Marine Social Science at DEFRA amongst many more.  

To help us explore the future of our Net Zero targets we have Kerry McCarthy MP, Labour’s shadow minister for climate change who will join us straight from the Labour Party conference. We will also be joined by Conservative MP Chris Skidmore who signed the UK’s commitment to Net Zero into law, and helped secure the UK Presidency of COP26.  

Feargal Sharkey is a musician and environmental campaigner and will outline what we need to do to drive real action on sewage. We are joined by Charles Watson, Chairman and Founder, River Action UK and Lou Beardmore, CEO of United Utilities. It’s vital that we can have dialogue on these issues that drives action. What does change look like and how do we make it happen?  

Together we reimagine what that world is going to look like,  and how business can work to make positive change happen.
